If your like me (and for your sake I hope not) than you never really thought about different wall chargers; if my USB A fits we were good to go. At CES I was told that I had been missing out on the glory that some wall chargers bring and that the smallest form factor with the most power is now available. Meet the PowerQ by S2dio. This charger is a 12W wall charger at 2.4A which is a pretty decent setup of numbers. What does that all mean? Well it only means something if it does something.  I ran my phone (Samsung Note 5) dead and charged it with my stock Samsung charger. After that, I ran my battery dead again and charged it with the PowerQ. All said and done I think I got my mobile video requirements in for the month.

Enough playing around, how did it do?

  • Samsung charger – About an hour and 50 minutes.
  • S2dio PowerQ – About an hour and 40 minutes.

The second part of the PowerQ is the size. I can plug in 2 next to each other which is the only charger that I have been able to do that with

PowerQ compared to a Samsung OEM charger

With such a small package it still contains additional features like AutoSense technology to allow the charger to understand what the needs of the device are and provide exactly that. When compared to things like the Insigna NS-AC1U2N , that has the same Amp and Watt output we really see the advantages that the PowerQ has.

In the end I feel like the S2dio PowerQ is a welcome addition to any home or travel charger system. I’d go as far as to say this charger belongs in every home.
